Policies & Safeguarding
Cookie Policy
A plain-English explanation of the cookies used on the Miss Maths Daily website and Student Portal.
Last updated: 6 August 2026
What cookies are
- Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way.
- They let a site remember things between pages and visits — for example that you are signed in — and can also be used to understand how a site is being used.
- Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses, and they do not give us access to anything else on your device.
How we use cookies
- Essential cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in to the Student Portal, keep your session secure and remember basic interface preferences. The site cannot work without these, so they do not require consent.
- Preference storage: remembers small choices such as which portal view you last used.
- We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers.
Analytics and tracking cookies
- We may use privacy-friendly analytics to see which pages are visited and how people find the site, so we can improve it.
- Analytics information is aggregated and is not used to identify individual students or families.
- If we introduce any non-essential analytics or tracking cookies, we will ask for your consent first and list them here.
- Some pages may embed third-party content (for example a video or a social media link). Those providers may set their own cookies, governed by their own policies.
Managing your cookie preferences
- You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings — look for the Privacy or Cookies section in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
- Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode, which clears cookies when you close the window.
- Blocking essential cookies will stop you from signing in to the Student Portal, because your session cannot be remembered.
- For more general guidance on cookies and your choices, see the ICO's website at ico.org.uk.
